Each bell is first beaten into shape by hand, then buried under the hot desert sand in a kiln.This age-old technique of metal-work is what gives each piece its unique patina and tone. The artisan completes the process by tuning each bell to reveal a rich, unique sound like no other bell.

This is a completely handmade item, so no two will every be alike.

Bell making is an ancient Indian craft that has been passed down through generations. Our fair trade bells are made by artisan families in the desert Kutch region of India and help provide these once disadvantaged artisans with work and economic stability.
